Island Dogs Take A Hit Card Game (1 Set)

By Island Dogs

Take A Hit by Island Dogs is an adult card game with real rules and scoring, packed with action cards, playing cards, a score card and a timer, made for a 21+ game night with friends.

If you searched for the Take A Hit card game, Take A Hit game, or a Take A Hit board game, this is the one: it is a card game rather than a board game, but it plays with the structure of one thanks to the score card and timer. Island Dogs jokes that by the end you will not care who wins, but there is a winner, and the activities keep everyone involved.

Format and contents, per Island Dogs.

How it plays. Full instructions come in the box, so if you are looking for the Take A Hit card game rules, they are printed inside. In short, players draw and play cards, complete the activities on the action cards against the timer, and track points on the score card. Island Dogs makes no recommendation about what anyone consumes while playing, and neither do we: it plays just as well with soda or chocolate milk.

Who it is for. A lazy day in, a game night with a group that likes friendly competition, or a gift for the friend who always brings the snacks. If your crowd would rather talk than compete, a conversation game may suit them better.

Hosting it well. Read through the rule sheet before guests arrive so the first round runs smoothly, and decide as a group how to handle forfeits or skipped actions. Agree up front that anyone can pass on an action card for any reason. Plan rides home before the night starts, and keep water and snacks on the table. The cards are sturdy enough for repeat game nights if you keep them in the box between uses.

Compare. For a conversation focused deck, try Let's Toke To That. For something with no cards at all, Stack The Joints is a stacking tower game. Keep the table tidy with the Joie de Weed Rolling Tray.
