The Functional Chocolate Co. Rhythm Ginger Snap Chocolate Bar (1.75oz)

By The Functional Chocolate Company

The Functional Chocolate Co. Rhythm is a 1.75oz ginger snap dark chocolate bar made with SaffSerene, a branded saffron extract, plus ginger and a blend of botanicals and vitamins. The company designed Rhythm for women who want a comforting, functional chocolate during their monthly cycle. The Functional Chocolate Company makes its bars with Fair Trade 60% cacao, crafted in the USA, and every bar is vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and non-GMO. Each 1.75oz bar is meant to be about three servings.

Format and contents.

  • Size: 1.75oz bar, about 3 servings
  • Key ingredient: SaffSerene (saffron extract)
  • Also contains: ginger extract, botanicals, vitamins
  • Flavor: ginger snap
  • Base: Fair Trade 60% cacao
  • Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-GMO

About the ingredients. SaffSerene is a branded extract of saffron flowers grown in Turkey and Morocco, and ginger is a familiar warming spice. Research on these ingredients is still developing, and we make no medical claims about this product.

What it tastes like. Warm and spiced, like a ginger snap cookie dipped in dark chocolate. The 60% cacao keeps it smoother and less bitter than very dark bars.

How to enjoy it. Have about a third of the bar as a serving and save the rest. Store it somewhere cool and dry, and choose expedited shipping in warm months.

Know before you eat it. Saffron can interact with some medications, including antidepressants and blood pressure medication, so talk to a licensed practitioner first if you take prescription medication. Skip it if you are pregnant or nursing.

Who it's for. Adults who want a cozy, spiced dark chocolate with functional botanicals, especially those who prefer a smoother 60% bar to very dark chocolate.
