What each ingredient brings. Kava is a Pacific Island root traditionally prepared as a social, calming drink. Kanna is a South African succulent, and Zembrin is a standardized kanna extract. L-theanine is the amino acid found in green tea. Together they are positioned as an alcohol-free way to decompress while staying present. We make no medical claims about this product.

The taste. Bold blackberry up front with bright citrus and a light sparkle, naturally sweetened with nothing artificial. It is built to feel like a proper evening drink, the kind you pour over ice instead of opening a beer.

How to drink it. Enjoy it chilled, one can at a time. Do not combine with alcohol, sedatives, or antidepressants, and do not drive until you know how it affects you.

Know before you sip. The National Institutes of Health notes that kava has been linked to rare cases of serious liver injury, and kanna acts on mood pathways, so it should not be combined with antidepressants or other mood-affecting medication. Skip it if you have liver concerns, are pregnant or nursing, or take prescription medication without first talking to a licensed medical practitioner.

When to reach for it. After work, at dinner, or anytime you would normally pour a drink. Keep a few cold in the fridge for nights when you want the ritual without the hangover.
