MK Lighter Windproof Refillable Butane Lighter, 420 Series (1ct)

The MK Lighter Windproof 420 Series is a single refillable butane lighter that arrives pre-filled, with a windproof flame and a slip guard rubber finish, sold in five playful outer space designs.

If you are looking for a windproof lighter that still has some personality, this is the one with rockets, aliens and flying saucers on the body. A windproof flame holds up much better than a standard soft flame on a breezy patio, a boat deck or a walk along Castle Island, and the rubber coating gives you a firm grip when your hands are cold or wet. Each lighter is sold individually.

How to use it. Point the flame away from your face and hands before you press the ignition, and let go as soon as you have lit what you need. A windproof flame burns hotter and is harder to see in daylight than a regular flame, so treat it with a little more care. When it runs dry, refill with good quality butane through the valve on the base, then wait a few minutes before lighting so the fuel settles to room temperature.

What to know at altitude. All butane lighters lose performance as altitude rises. Around 1,500 meters (about 4,900 feet) and higher, lower air pressure and colder air make it harder for butane to vaporize, so ignition can get unreliable. That is a property of the fuel, not a defect, and it will not matter for everyday use around Boston. Pack a book of matches as a backup when you head into the mountains, though.

Compare. Prefer a classic thumb wheel? The Flint Strike Refillable Lighters use a replaceable flint and a regular flame. Want something fully disposable? Our deVINE matchbook fits in any pocket. For a mushroom themed windproof, see the Windproof Lighter Magic Mushy Series.

Pair it with. A lighter is only half the setup. If you are lighting hemp flower, choose a lab tested option and check its certificate on our lab reports page first.

For adults 21 and over. Intended for use with tobacco and legal hemp products only. Not intended for use with illegal substances. Butane is highly flammable. Never leave a lighter in a hot car, in direct sun, or near an open flame, and never puncture or burn the body. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
